Plitvice Lake National Park — Croatia's | TheCrystalLand
Lake Plitvice is one of the most unique places to visit in Croatia. With easy walking paths, turquoise
suspension panels, stunning views and stunning waterfalls, this is the perfect type of place for
visitors of all ages.
With different levels of lakes, four different hiking paths, seven hiking paths, and two different entrances, trying to figure out how to spend your time here can be confusing.
In this article, I will share our hiking path through Plitvice Lakes. Learn how to get to the most gorgeous waterfalls, how to get a great garden view, and how to get to the Great Slap view of the Plitvice Lakes postcard.
The national parks of Lake Plitvice Lake have 16 interconnected lakes that vary in color from emerald green to turquoise to dark blue, depending on mineral content and lighting conditions. Throw in those waterfalls and you have something really special.
In 1979 Lake Plitvice became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Croatia, receiving over one million visitors annually. A lot comes during the summer months, so if you are planning a trip from June to August, expect large crowds.
It is possible to visit Platvice Lakes on a daily trip from Zagreb, Zadar and Split. However, you will spend a lot of time in the car. If you do this in the summer months, you will likely reach peak times when the tracks are crowded.
For the best experience, plan to stay overnight near the park for an early start to the day. Deserves all the effort!
Plitvice Ezek National Park covers more than 73,000 acres. There are four hiking trails organized into 7 different ways to bypass the park. In addition to hiking, you can try both the boat and the shuttle (also called the panoramic train).
It is easier to think of a garden in three different parts. The bottom of the lakes includes entrance 1 and the Big Slap (the Great Waterfall). From here, you can ride a boat or shuttle service to the highest lakes, with some of the most beautiful hiking trails and waterfalls in the park. Outside this third section, trail around Lake Bruce Anas.
Another part of the park is not included in the main roads. There is a trail and path that runs along the western slopes of the park (named after the Cliff Show Map below), which provide very beautiful weather views of the lakes and paths. This includes the Veliki Slap offer to postcard Plitvice Lakes.
Programs A, B and C start at entry 1. Programs E, F and N start at entry 2 and are basically the same as just A, B and C going in the opposite direction. The K program is an all-day visit around the park.
There are seven paths across the park (also called programs). These are the suggested paths depending on your starting point, energy level and amount of time. With seven options, choosing the best road can be confusing. At the end of this section, I'll give you our suggestions.

If you like the idea of visiting the upper and lower lakes as well as taking views of the upper landscapes, we have a recommended route through Plitvice Lakes.

I don't have the exact distance, but I estimate this road is about 11 km long and lasts up to 6 to 8 hours.
Within one day, we walked back and forth on these two-way tracks, we rode the shuttle, we drove the electric boat, we drove the rocky tracks on both sides of the lakes, we explored different perspectives and took the view from one viewpoint. A big slap. In total, we drove over 20 km (12.5 mi) to take this road across the park. Don't worry, you won't walk 20 km as we did (we made a lot of comments).
